2007

The first 2500RT centrifugal water chilling unit was borne at Midea. The Midea central air conditioner won the bid for the Olympic Games. In the same year, Midea became one of the second state-level innovation-oriented pilot enterprises.

 

2006

Numerous products won the China Red Star Design Award, the appearance design patent prize, and the Superstar Prize of the Year.

 

2005

Midea developed the first asphalt pavement microwave maintenance car in the world, which won the special prize of scientific and technological progress of Guangdong Province in the same year.

 

2004

Midea was chosen as one of the first "advantaged enterprises in intellectual property rights of Guangdong Province".

 

2001

The Midea Microwave Oven Division acquired the Magnetron Division of Sanyo (Japan), entering into core parts of microwave oven, and began to structure a sound microwave oven industrial chain.

 

2000

Midea began to introduce overseas experts and returned students on a large scale in response to the trend of internationalization, and implemented the Talent of the Century project.

 

1999

Midea introduced the one-driving-more technology for commercial air conditioner, and opened up a new style of the Chinese commercial air conditioner industry. In the same year, Midea set up a postdoctoral research workstation, which won the honorary title "Excellent Postdoctoral Workstation of China" later.

 

1998

Midea entered into the compressor manufacturing field by acquiring Toshiba-Macro, improving the core technology of the whole air conditioner industrial chain.

 

1996

Midea was one of the first domestic enterprises to implement MRP-II and office automation system, and made it possible for the enterprise to run efficiently by means of modern technology.

 

1992

Midea introduced the RP plastic sealed motor technology in cooperation with Shibaura Engineering Works and Hosoda Kogyo Co., Ltd., filling up a gap of China's micromachine technology then.

 

1985

Midea introduced advanced equipment to producing air conditioners, employed thermal engineer Dr. Ma Jun, and became the first township enterprise of China that employed a doctor.

 

1980

Midea set foot in the home appliance field to make electric fans, employed senior technicians as "Sunday Engineers" to assist in making technological breakthroughs, and became the industry pioneer in technical R&D pattern.
