While maintaining high-speed growth, Midea Group has made active contribution to the local economic development, donating over RMB 120 million to social welfare and education cause.


Main donation stories of Midea Group


In 1998, a sum of RMB 1,600,000 was donated to the state for flood disaster relief.

In 1999, a sum of RMB 300,000 as the education-aid fund was donated for the school-aged children in the disaster-stricken areas in three counties of Wuhu.

In 2000, a sum of RMB 20,000,000 was donated for building Shunde College and an other sum of RMB 600,000 to the Midea Hope Primary School in Wuhu, Anhui Province.

In 2002, a sum of RMB 1,500,000 was donated to Shunde Welfare Fund.

In 2003, a sum of RMB 11,500,000 was donated for combating "SARS".

In 2004, a sum of RMB 5,000,000 was donated to the Provincial Public Interest Project.

In 2005, a sum of RMB 1,600,000 was donated to aiding the victims stricken by the Indian Ocean Tsunami for rebuilding their homes, and another sum of RMB 1,500,000 to the catastrophic flood stricken areas in Guangdong Province, as well as RMB 5,500,000 for supporting the Shunde "Ten Thousand People Charity" Activity and RMB 9,000,000 for exclusively sponsoring the Opening Ceremony of the Asian Arts Festival.

In 2006, a sum of RMB 3,000,000 was donated for aiding the victims stricken by typhoon to rebuild their homes as well as RMB 5,800,000 for aiding new socialism rural area construction in Beijiao Town.

In 2007, a sum of RMB 4,500,000 was donated for developing grassroot outpatient cooperative medical service and RMB 18,000,000 for constructing the Whole People Bodybuilding Sports Park in Shunde District and RMB 1,000,000 for aiding and promoting Beijiao Housing Project.

In 2008, Midea donated RMB 4,500,000 for relieving people who were affected by the snow disaster and RMB 15,800,000 to Wenchuan earthquake-stricken areas for rebuilding work.
